I Stopped Using Egg Wash for Chicken Nuggets (Do THIS Instead!)

Then We Eat

Crispy, crunchy, and golden brown!

These homemade chicken nuggets are the perfect comfort food meal.

Instead of the traditional egg and milk wash, we are using melted butter to give the breading the perfect stick and an incredibly rich flavor.

They pair perfectly with your favorite dipping sauce, like the homemade honey mustard we whipped up in our previous Short!

Ingredients

  • 2 Chicken Breasts
  • 1 Cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 Cup Melted Butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degree F (200 degrees C).
  2. Cut chicken breasts into 1 1/2 inch pieces.
  3. Mix bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, basil, thyme, and salt together in a medium bowl.
  4. In a separate bowl, add the melted butter.
  5. Dip chicken pieces into melted butter first, then coat with bread crumb mixture.
  6. Place the chicken pieces on a lightly greased cookie sheet in a single layer.
  7. Bake in preheated oven until browned and chicken is cooked through, about 290 minutes.
  8. Enjoy!
